On Friday, a Delhi court will recommence hearing into Amar Singh’s bail plea who is former Samajwadi Party general secretary in link with the 2008 cash-for-votes scam. Amar Singh was arrested on Tuesday and is currently kept in Tihar Jail of Delhi. He has been remanded in judicial custody till September 19, as reported.
Amar Singh’s health report was demanded by the Tihar Jail authorities on Thursday to know of Amar’s health condition. This report has been demanded to know whether Amar’s health is fine, as the counsel of Amar Singh asked for temporary bail on the grounds of Amar’s ‘deteriorating’ health.
According to the sources two other lawmakers Faggan Kulaste and Mahavir Singh Bhagora have also been arrested and are currently in judicial custody.
The scam of cash-for-votes has rocked events in the Lok Sabha, when the ruling government led by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh supposedly bribed lawmakers of other parties to assist winning the confidence vote.
