Houston police investigating the death of a female found unconscious

Houston police are investigating the death of a female found at 4300 Wilmington about 3 a.m. on Sunday (Sept. 11).

The victim, Laura Annette Durden, 44, of Houston, suffered a head injury and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where she was pronounced dead.  The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences will perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants W. Meeler and C. Howard reported:

Police and Fire Department personnel responded to a report of a person down in the parking lot of the Wilmington House Apartments at the above address.  Ms. Durden was found unconscious, lying outside of her vehicle.
