Suspect in Surrey shooting might still be on the roads

After a shootout in Surrey, a 28-year-old man received several critical injuries Tuesday morning. According to the police, the incident took place roughly around 6 a.m. at 144th Street and 92nd Avenue when the shooter opened fire at a man, jumped into his car and left him bleeding on the street.

RCMP Cpl. Drew Grainger said: “This definitely has the earmarks of a targeted shooting.”

According to the RCMP, the victim sought help a block away at a nearby residence after he was shot. He was immediately rushed to a hospital.

Police says the shooter fled away in the victim’s car, and they are looking for the suspect who might be on the roads driving a 2012 four door Hyundai Elantra. The stolen car is of blue color and has a BC license plate: 147-PFH.

Although the police have not yet completely described the suspect, there are chances that he has a history of involvement in drug trade. Police say the victim is expected to live.

The area was cordoned off Tuesday morning as police investigated, and 92nd Avenue was closed to traffic in the area of between 142nd and 144th streets.
