The Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault/Child Abuse Section is investigating the report of a sexual assault that occurred on February 25 2012, between 12:30 am and 1:30 am in the south end.

A 41-year old woman was walking on the north side of Riverside Drive in the area of Billings Bridge when a male stopped and offered her a ride. The woman declined and continued walking on Riverside Drive. Shortly thereafter, the woman was blindsided by the suspect, pushed to the ground, struck several times in the face and inappropriately touched. The woman subsequently pushed the suspect off and he left the area. The woman sustained facial injuries as a result of the attack.

The suspect is described as a Middle Eastern male, 30 to 40 years, 6 ft 3 in, thin build and thick side burns with a thin line of facial hair along the jaw line. The suspect was wearing a beige puffy jacket, a brown hat, brown pants and had a gold chain around his neck and gold dice earrings.

The vehicle is described as a silver 2000 Mercury Cougar with a burgundy interior.
