One of the journalists of the media community covering the area of Malacanang Palace was shot and is reported to be in critical condition in the intense care unit in the hospital.

The shooting incident took place late Sunday night where the reporter was heading home after completing his duty. Time of report of the incident is recorded as 11 pm. Rescue team reached the crime scene in no time and took the shot reporter to Pasig City General Hospital where the reporter is fighting for his life.

According to the media talk held by the chief superintendent of Pasig City Jessie Cardona, the reporter attacked was Fernan Angeles who worked for Daily Tribune and Malacanang was his beat of work. He worked on the news of the city. He left from office to head home at 10 pm when he was shot a little while later. He was on way to his home which is in Barangay Pinagbuhatan.

The shooter remains anonymous as there are no eyewitnesses and the attacked reporter is no condition to inform about the incident. Police is investigating the matter with the help of all relevant evidence collected from the crime scene. According to various news, the report had six shots in his body at the time he was taken to the hospital.

Political leaders in Malacannag and media groups are seriously condemning the act of violence and demanding that the case be solved at the earliest.
