The occasion also brought delegates from Eastern and Central Equatoria States headed by the two Governors; Clement Wani Konga of Central Equatoria and Louis Lobong Lojore of Eastern Equatoria State with their cabinet ministers and other diplomats.

The governor and all the sons and daughters of Western Equatoria State in the National Government, additional dignitaries included the AU and Indian Ambassador to South Sudan,  representative for the SPLM Secretary General Nora Zangabeyo, the Archbishop of ECS Daniel Deng Bull, Bishops of all the churches in the State and all the County Commissioners.

The occasion started at 9 am with a procession by the organized forces, traditional dancers from Western and Central Equatoria States and the Toposa of Eastern Equatoria State that started from the State Legislative Assembly about 1 and half miles to the Gbudue stadium.

Addressing the rally after the swearing in ceremony, the representative of the SPLM Secretary General Nora Zangabeyo congratulated the people of Western Equatoria State for enforcing the law.

She urged the people to support the constitution and to ensure they are governed for that reason.

The Governor of Eastern Equatoria State Louis Lobong Lojore, hailed the commitment of trust in the Equatoria Conference Resolution last year that the three Equatoria Governors shall attend any occasion in one of the States.

He said this is a sign of love and brotherhood amongst the Equatorian Region.

Governor Lobong also called upon the Equatorian residents in general to be exemplary by not following those who want to end the government of South Sudan by taking arms but rather keep the resolution of the Equatorian Region forum 2011 that states “Equatorias shall never be used for battle again.”

He condemned the recent killings in Juba, Central Equatoria State saying that it is unlawful to grab other people’s land by using arms.

The sworn in Governor of Western Equatoria Hon. Bangasi Joseph Bakosoro, appreciated the presence of the invited guests to witness the biggest occasion; the first of its kind in the history of the State.

He said this is the time for the people of Equatoria to be united and sell the seed of unity and togetherness to other parts of South Sudan.

Governor Bakosoro decried over what is happening in Jonglei State and other States of the South. He appealed to the international community to support the country especially now that oil production has been shut down to encourage the people of South Sudan to invest in agriculture.
