Washington man Julius Barnett Ellington dies in fatal shooting at Morton Street, NW

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating the fatal shooting which occurred in the 600 block of Morton Street, NW.

On Thursday, July 5, 2012, at approximately 2:20 am members of the Third District responded to the rear of the 600 block of Morton Street, NW for the report of a shooting.  Upon arrival, they located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound.  DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel transported the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.  A second victim, an adult male, suffering from a gunshot wound was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

The decedent has been identified as 35-year-old Julius Barnett Ellington of Northwest, Washington, DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
