Skirball Cultural Center (Los Angeles, CA)

Critical Mass Performance Group stages a dramatic reading of a work-in-progress by award-winning writer-director Nancy Keystone that explores the close cultural and political connection between the U.S. and a Poland yearning for freedom. That relationship originally stemmed from the close friendship that developed between Thomas Jefferson and Polish General Thaddeus Kosciusko, who fought alongside the colonists in the Continental Army. Kosciusko returned to Poland, where he battled against Russian rule and for the democratic causes that only reached their fruition in the Solidarity movement of the ’80s. Tickets to the workshop performance also include Skirball museum admission.
