The Day 4 has been dominated this time by the Aussies in every sense of the word and lost just one wicket and taken a little lead after closing the day at 487-4.

Prolific captain, Michael Clarke squeezed South Africa with a merciless unbeaten on 218, while batting expert Mike Hussey is just short of 14 runs from becoming the third Australian centurion of the match. The Proteas, who managed just one wicket on the 4^th day’s play – that of Ed Cowan for 136 via an accidental run-out, will be exhausted after a long day in the field. Australia holds a 37 runs lead on the first innings heading into the final day, but the match is seemingly headed for a draw.

Through entire day, the tourists remain in search of some quick wickets to press for victory in Brisbane, but a first Test century of high accomplishment by Cowan paved the way for Clarke and Michael Hussey to make the visitors wicketless in the final session. In case, Day 2 had not been washed out, the home team would be hopeful to grab a victory in the three-Test series opener. Now, a draw is the most likely result unless bowlers would show some magic on the final day in the field.
