The authorities are currently investigating a sudden death of an Alberta man, who died over the weekend while residing at a resort in Mexico. According to a local newspaper of Mexico, Noticaribe News, the incident occurred after the man fell from the edge of a balcony at Cancun’s Great Pernassus resort on Jan. 5.

However, investigation reveals that the man entered an argument inside the hotel bar prior to the incident and he was also allegedly punched in the face before falling off. Media has revealed a concealed photo of his body covered in white sheet. Unofficial reports state that the victim is identified as 21-year-old Canadian named, Chris Rogers, who belongs to St. Albert, Alta. The spokesperson of Canada’s Foreign Affairs and International Trade department, Barbara Harvey, claims that representatives of Canadian consulate in Mexico are already working in alliance with local authorities to assist in the investigation, though she refused to confirm the victim’s identity due to privacy concerns. Harvey alleged that “our thoughts are with the family and friends of a Canadian citizen who passed away in Mexico.”

One of the victim’s friends informed our sources that Rogers had recently reached last year of his studies at the University of Alberta. The police in Cancun claims to have no information about the incident so far, while the general manager of the said hotel remained unavailable comments as well.
