Codiac RCMP responded to the collision, between two cars, at around 9:25 p.m. on April 17, 2013. A 36-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the hospital as a result of her injuries.
The victim was the lone occupant and driver of a car travelling eastbound on Killam Drive. The collision occurred near the intersection of Edinburgh Drive. The driver of the westbound vehicle, a 41-year-old Lakeville man, had to be extracted from his vehicle. He was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries. A passenger in the second vehicle also sustained undetermined injuries.
An RCMP collision reconstructionist is assisting in the investigation. Alcohol is believed to have been a contributing factor. Charges against the 41-year-old driver are anticipated.
