Now in its 39th year, A Prairie Home Companion is a beloved throwback to old time radio shows and a time when the whole family would gather around the living room for a weekly visit with their favorite characters. Written and hosted by Garrison Keillor since it began production in 1974, A Prairie Home Companion is heard on over 600 public radio stations across the country. Every week, listeners (and the live studio audience) check in with the residents of the fictional idyllic town of Lake Wobegon. In between comedy skits, the show features folk music acts. A Prairie Home Companion was recently made into a feature film by director Robert Altman. This show will also feature special guests Lily Tomlin, Paula Poundstone, and Jearlyn and Jevetta Steele.
