Walt Disney Concert Hall (Los Angeles, CA)
The colorful, tragic life of Harvey Milk, the first openly gay man to hold public office in California, gets a melodious homage as part of the Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles’ 35th Anniversary Concert. With words and music by show tune hit-maker Andrew Lippa (The Addams Family, Big Fish), this 60-minute oratorio is part choral work and part theater piece, and features rousing vocal work by more than 500 singers from various co-commissioning gay men’s choruses. And that’s only the second half of this epic show — the first half is all GMCLA, performing it signature blend of pop hits, old classics and commissioned originals in the glorious acoustical confines of Walt Disney Concert Hall.
