On Day 2 of the third test match, West Indian opener Kraigg Brathwaite hit an enterprising 68 to lead a positive batting display from hosts against New Zealand on Friday but bad weather and persistent rain soon after lunch cut the home team short.
West Indies, overnight 32 for 0, had powered to 169 for 2 at Kensington Oval in reply to New Zealand’s first day total of 293 in their 1st innings when steady showers arrived 20 minutes into the second session. Play was eventually abandoned with only 33.2 overs possible on Friday.
