You Can’t Take It With You is a madcap comedy about two clashing New York families. When a member of the conservative Kirby family falls in love with a girl from the eccentric Sycamore household, the two families come together to celebrate the couple’s engagement and discover their shocking differences over the course of a wildly uncomfortable dinner. Fast-paced and filled with witty one-liners, the play, written by masters of comedy George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart, has been entertaining audiences for almost 80 years. This winner of the 1937 Pulitzer Prize remains just as endearing now as it was during the Great Depression.
