Road Theatre at Lankershim Arts Center (North Hollywood, CA)
Bill and Jack might be the Felix and Oscar of the 21st century. But, although they are every bit as funny as Neil Simon’s creations, the two stars of Things Being What They Are have a few more complications than you’d expect from two guys downing brewskis on the davenport. Fastidious Bill has just moved to the ‘burbs and awaits the arrival of his furniture and his (unfaithful) wife. Jack is his irreverent neighbor, the epitome of the loud and noisy guest who will never leave. But in this off-beat comedy from Wendy MacLeod, these two regular guys form an unlikely bond as their conversations stray from typical “dude-speak” to meaningful and unexpected explorations of marriage, commitment and mortality. Andre Barron directs this exciting new production of Things Being What They Are for the Road Theatre.
