Czech cuisine is not exactly a synonym for healthy cooking, but it pairs perfectly with beer!
Let´s taste the traditional Czech cuisine together with award winning hand-crafted beer.
Our first stop is Black Oak Brewery and Ken where you can learn about their history. Ken is the owner of the brewery and he is a very funny guy. You will also sample some craft beer during the tour.
The second stop will be at Great Lakes Brewery… another award winning brewery from Toronto. We won´t be taking the tour but you can sample all of their beers – unlimited sampling.
That sounds good, eh?!
You will probably get hungry after all that sampling so we will head to Prague, a Scarborough restaurant where you can enjoy a Bohemian platter and pint of Czech beer! The Bohemian platter consists of pork schnitzel, two kinds of roasted meat, two kinds of cabbage topped with debrecine sausage, home fried potatoes, dumplings, dessert – “vdolky” – Czech traditional double raised dough, fried, and dusted with powdered sugar; topped with sour cream, plum butter, and whipped cream.
The price $89 includes:
– comfortable transportation by 12 seat van
– Black Oak Brewery tour and 5 beer samples
– Great Lakes Brewery – unlimited samples
– Lunch at Prague with a pint of beer
– guided tour in Masaryk town
Masaryk Memorial Institute is a Canadian non-profit organization based in Toronto, Ontario that has been serving people of Czech and Slovak origin living in Canada since 1945. It was established by those who fled the oppressive regimes first of fascism and then communism.
Named in honour of Tomas Garrigue Masaryk, the father of the first independent and democratic Czechoslovakia (Czech and Slovak Republics today).
