Earlier, we had reported that Vidya Balan was starring in Begum Jaan which is an adaptation of Srijit Mukherjee's Bengali film Rajkahini. The film will comprise of several female characters playing prostitutes.
Readers may recall that Gauahar Khan, Pallavi Sharda, Flora Saini, Ila Arun, Mishti, Ridhima Tiwari among others have come on board for the female oriented film. Today, Vidya Balan shared a group shot from the sets of Begum Jaan as the cast looked excited to start the film. Vidya wrote, "As our director Srijit puts it, the 'League of Extraordinary Gentlewomen' … Our Begum Jaan team ??!!"
Produced by Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt, Begum Jaan will present a story about eleven women in a brothel who refuse to part ways with their shelter during the India- Pakistan partition.
