Karan Johar & Ekta KapoorFor quite some time there has been news floating around Karan Johar and Ekta Kapoor deciding to collaborate and make films together. While their friendship is the talk of the town for years now, it has now started showing in promotion of their films as well, what with the First Look of Kya Super Kool Hai Hum being interspersed with number of shots from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, an experiment that has turned out to be a masterstroke.

“For years, Karan Johar films have been an epitome of family sagas. In fact Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham tops the list when it comes to such dramas in modern day Bollywood. On the other hand, Ekta Kapoor has prided herself on making films that break the norms of family cinema, case in point being The Dirty Picture, Ragini MMS, Love Sex Aur Dhokha and of course Kya Kool Hai Hum. Even though each of these films has been successful, there is a lot of criticism to them as well. Ekta revels on such publicity and has now launched a counter attack by terming her Kya Super Kool Hai Hum as unsuitable for families”, informs a source.

Since the film was always meant to be an antithesis of conventional family affairs, it was agreed between her and close friend Karan Johar that a campaign would be launched where key shots from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham would be connected to some of the outright below the belt sequences of the Tusshar Kapoor-Riteish Deshmukh starrer. The results are hilarious to say the least.

“This is a first of its kind and it is fun to see Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Jaya Bachchan being shown as thoroughly disgusted with the obscene acts of Tusshar and Riteish”, comments a movie buff as the First Look is going viral, “It is apparent that a new level of obscenity is being explored with the film and the best part is that the makers are unpretentious about it. Also, it showcases once again that Karan Johar is sporting enough to laugh at himself. He has done it in the past, he has done it again.”

Though the film is still four months away, the actors are already gung ho about the response coming their way. While the obvious comparisons are being made with Delhi Belly, both Tusshar and Riteish state that the film maintains its own identity. “We were the ones who first gave Kya Kool Hai Hum. The spirit remains the same and so does the treatment”, says Tusshar. “Of course the jokes have gone a notch higher up and a tad below the belt”, adds Riteish.

Well guys, we are prepared for further shock.
