Help improve Canadian immigration system

IRCC has launched an initiative called “An Immigration System for Canada’s Future” that aims to gather ideas and perspectives from Canadians and other stakeholders on how to create a stronger and more adaptable immigration system. The initiative will run until April 2023 and will include in-person dialogue sessions, thematic workshops, and a survey for the public and clients.

The survey, which is now available, asks participants about their initial thoughts on the current immigration system, the main challenges and gaps facing the system, and the characteristics and qualities they would like to see in a future immigration system. The survey also highlights important Canadian immigration trends, such as an aging population, shortages of workers in certain industries, and pressures on social programs and affordable housing.

Participants are asked to consider these trends in their vision for Canadian immigration and to suggest the changes necessary to make that vision a reality.
