The impact of the massage was very powerful, I was aware that day that there was some surrendering waiting to happen. Surrender, a word I often use when I am teaching yoga, contains two emotions, release and embracing/accepting. My own surrender happened with the release, as a flood gate of tears….the me that was observing the me through this process saw the emotional blockages that were washing away and the embracing that was happening. It happened like a flash back, yet it was the moment in time. The feeling of surrender, happened, and the residual feeling was of immense gratitude. Adam a great yoga teacher, and a an amazing healer, both through his yoga and his massage, sat there for a long time, his silent support being emitted through his presence and energy.
I lay there for a long time, hearing the sounds of the nearby river, sensing and knowing that this life is as beautiful as it is challenging. The life or self-realization journey brings one to different cross-road and check points. There is no detour, you remain on the path, with a smile, or a tear, facing what is happening in the moment, as you notice your feelings and reactions…….the space created through the surrender, soon begins to fill with gratitude.
