Hrithik & Katrina gorge on junk food; play pranks on people during road trip

The road trip undertaken to promote their road movie took a heavy toll on Katrina and Hrithik Roshan’s calorie level. In just two days, Katrina put on a minimum of 1.5 kilos. A member of the Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (ZNMD) team accompanying them says, "Everyone was having fun. But Kat and Duggu, thoda zyada hi. Looking at them you’d never believe how much they eat. Through the entire trip they had been tucking into fatty oily starchy food…including aloo ka paranthas soaked in pure ghee and rabdi (condensed milk) served in mud containers." But the giddy limit of the two svelte superstars acquired gluttony was witnessed on Saturday in a small dusty town called Bhilwara in Rajasthan. Apparently, Katrina and Hrithik had a sudden craving for freshly-fried pakodas. Says the ZNMDB member, "We were travelling on the Rajasthan highway and it was raining. Katrina said she wanted to try freshly-fried pakodas and that too in a dhaba. We all felt out stomachs churn. Hadn’t she eaten a full 3-course meal just 45 minutes ago? But Kat was adamant. She wanted pakodas, and that too a traditional roadside dhaba with charpoys laid out for travellers to lounge on."

Tragically, the traditional roadside dhaba is now near-extinct. Says the source, "We hunted for several miles for one of those conventional roadside dhabas. News spread in the area that Hrithik and Katrina were travelling on the route. There were crowds on both sides of the road. All the dhabas were modern desi equivalents of McDonalds. Finally, we stopped at one of these. It was called Pandit Dhaba. But crowds had already gathered for a glimpse of the stars. We bought the pakodas and Katrina and Duggu had them in the car." Throughout the road trip Hrithik and Katrina have been inseparable. Says the source, "We travelled in a convoy. The stars were in two cars. While the other stars kept changing places Katrina and Duggu were constantly together, playing pranks on the whole world. On Saturday, at a toll booth in Himmatnagar in North Gujarat, Hrithik decided to play a prank on commuters. He got into a toll booth and started issuing tickets for the cars. The first few cars didn’t notice. Then the word spread who was issuing toll tickets from a particular booth. All hell broke loose." When contacted, Katrina seemed to be having the time of her life. "Yeah man, I was eating like there’s tomorrow. The food in the dhabas is to die for."
