EPS Homicide Detectives have charged a 22-year-old man in connection with the homicide of 25-year-old Ahmed Ismail-Sheikh.

Arab Mursal Sugule was charged with 2nd degree murder, assault causing bodily harm, possession of a weapon (x2) and obstructing a police officer.

Further investigations revealed that the accused and victim knew each other. Also, a 31-year-old male suffered non-life-threatening injuries during the altercation that lead to the homicide.

Background:

On July 15, 2011 West Division members were called to the area of 112 Avenue and 124 Street to assist EMS. Upon arrival at scene they found an unconscious male suffering from injuries they believe happened as a result of some sort of an altercation. The male victim was transported to hospital where he later died.
