We’re living in an age when anyone can create and share content, and Netflix, YouTube, and Apple Music rule. So what does that mean for Canadian content? Technology is changing the way we create and consume. The Minister of Canadian Heritage recently launched consultations on Canadian Content in a Digital World to explore how we can strengthen the creation, discovery and export of Canadian content in the 21st century.
Some people are excited for potential policy changes in this realm and some are nervous. What will it mean in terms of support for our creative industries? What does it even mean for content to be “Canadian”?
On November 15, writer, director, and producer Kevin McMahon, as well as president of ACTRA Toronto (Alliance of Cinema, Television and Radio Artists) Dave Sparrow join us to discuss the current state of the industry and the potential impact of policy changes. Additional special guests to be announced.
Discussion starts promptly at 7:30pm. As always, this event is free, you just have to pay for what you order. Please RSVP to let us know you will be joining us.
