A homeless woman with mental issues and a feisty sense of humor bonds with the leader of a psych ward’s theatre workshop in I Am Chrissie. Written and performed by award-winning actress Laurie O’Brien, this one-woman show is based on O’Brien’s real-life experiences running theatre workshops in mental institutions and juvenile detention centers in the late 1970s. In turns funny and touching, Chrissie blurs the lines between art and life, sanity and insanity, and generations. Award-winner Tony Abatemarco directs this Katselas Theatre Company production, which was developed in KTC’s own INkubator program.
