Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will face each other in the first One-Day International of their three-match series in Hambantota on Saturday.

Sri Lanka did win the test series with 1-0 and now are planning to grab victory in the ODI series as well. They are entering the opening game with the intention to win and make it 1-0 up knowing that afterwards just an additional victory would guarantee a series win. Dinesh Chandimal did perform greatly during the test series but now his ODI form seems to be a bit of concern unlike the test performance. The probable Sri Lankan squad will include: 1 Tillakaratne Dilshan, 2 Kushal Perera, 3 Kumar Sangakkara (wk), 4 Lahiru Thirimanne, 5 Dinesh Chandimal, 6 Angelo Mathews (capt), 7 Jeevan Mendis, 8 Thisara Perera, 9 Nuwan Kulasekera, 10 Sachitra Senanayake, 11 Lasith Malinga.

On the other hand, Bangladesh have proved of being capable of surprising big teams in the shorter format of the game when they beat World Cup finalists India and Sri Lanka on their way to the Asia Cup final in Dhaka last year. Bangladesh had previously won 3 matches against Sri Lanka out of 30 matches. Last year, the tourists are in great form and performed brilliantly at their home, including a series victory over the West Indies. Mahmudullah’s form during the test series is a concern for Bangladesh especially since he has been one of their most consistent ODI players.  The likely Bangladesh lineup will include: 1 Tamim Iqbal, 2 Anamul Haque, 3 Mohammad Ashraful, 4 Mahmudullah, 5 Mushfiqur Rahim (capt & wk), 6 Mominul Haque/Ziaur Rahman, 7 Nasir Hossain, 8 Sohag Gazi, 9 Abul Hasan, 10 Abdur Razaak, 11 Rubel Hossain.
