At a time when one scandal had not ended for the Ford family, The Globe and Mail has recently released an investigative report asserting that Mayor Rob Ford’s brother, Coun. Doug Ford, previously used to sell hashish in the 1980s. The newspaper claims to have gathered information from several anonymous sources during its 18-month extensive investigation into the Ford family.

Upon inquiry, Doug Ford’s lawyer completely denied all the allegations in the article. Approached outside his Etobicoke home on Saturday morning, Ford alleged that he had not read the entire article but that it was disgusting. He mentioned in a frustrating tone that “they try to attack my family, attack me – it’s disgusting.” He alleged that “don’t they have anything better to do? I give back my salary, I donate my time. Is that not good enough for you guys?” Later, out of frustration, Ford stated that media was a bunch of sleaze balls and said the whole situation was “absolutely sickening.”

Quite noticeably, Doug’s brother, Mayor Rob Ford was recently accused by two reputed sources, including Toronto Star and gawker.com, of having been caught on a video that showed him doing crack cocaine and making homophobic and racist remarks. After remaining silent for a week, Ford recently acknowledged on Friday that “there’s been a serious accusation from the Toronto Star that I use crack cocaine. I do not use crack cocaine nor am I an addict of crack cocaine.” He clarified that “as for a video, I can’t comment on a video that I’ve not seen or does not exist.”
