Saskatchewan man Julian Littlechief charged with attempt kidnapping

On November 11, 2013 at approximately 3:00 p.m.,a 16 year-old female was walking in the area of Main Street and Bannerman Avenue when a red SUV was observed following her.

The driver of the vehicle pulled up beside the female and attempted to initiate contact by honking his horn. The female ignored his efforts and continued to walk southbound on Main Street.

The driver pursued the female and abruptly stopped his vehicle in the victim’s path near Main Street and St. John’s Avenue. It was at this time the male grabbed the victim by the arm and demanded that she get into the vehicle. The victim pulled away and managed to break free. The suspect then produced a plastic bottle and threw it toward the victim, striking her to the lower body.

The suspect fled and police were notified.

Several Patrol Units responded to the area. At approximately 3:45 p.m., officers observed a vehicle in the area of Salter Street and Magnus Avenue matching the description of the suspect vehicle. A traffic stop was initiated and a lone male occupant was arrested.

Members of the Majors Crimes Unit continued to investigate.

Julian Littlechief, 27 years-old of Saskatchewan has been charged with the following due to his alleged involvement:

Kidnapping – Attempt
Assault with a Weapon

He was detained at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.
