Learn how to make speciality handmade paper for printing! In this workshop students will learn basic sheet forming and pulp painting skills, which will help them make custom printmaking paper. The class will take participants from handmade paper to the press. Learn basic sheet forming and pulp painting in the first class and take those sheets through to the press on the second day. We encourage participants to choose a specific type of printmaking to focus work on, and they are welcome to return and take the class again with a different emphasis. We teach using your choice of relief, drypoint or collagraph printmaking. We encourage students to bring in their own previously carved or etched intaglio or relief matrices to this class. At the end of the workshop you will leave with samples of prints using a variety of fibres and custom paper techniques.
