The Archbishop of the Episcopal Church, Daniel Deng Bul, says with the majority of the people in the state being Christians preaching the word of God will assist in restoring peace.

The church peace campaign will be conducted in the following area, Pacong payam, Akot payam, Rumbek North, Rumbek Central county and Cueibet county which are most affected by inter-clan conflict.

Just two days after the peace campaign was launched, unknown gunmen have been reported to have killed two people in Rumbek Central according to Rumbek Central County Chief Inspector of Police, Isaac Mayoum Gop.

According to the police the killings are part of a cycle of revenge attacks.
