February 23, 2015, Lillian H. Smith Public Library, 239 College St. from 6:30 – 7:30pm … Come join us as we present ‘World Peace Starts Within YOU!’ the next in a series of free introductory seminars on Nichiren Buddhism. Each seminar will begin with a presentation and follow with an open Q & A.
This seminar will address core aspects of global social peace, the interconnectedness of all life and how building a world in which a deeply and widely held respect for human life would serve as the basis on which human conflict can be worked out in a peaceful, creative manner. Peace is not simply the absence of war, it is a state in which people come together in mutual trust and live with joy, energy, and hope.
As stated by Daisaku Ikeda, president of Soka Gakkai International, “Peace is not some abstract concept. It is a question of how each one of us plants and cultivates the seeds of peace in the reality of daily living, in the depths of our being.”
