SYMPHRONICA is the brilliant, eclectic brainchild of highly acclaimed pianist/bandleader/composer and Torontonian Ron Davis. Davis, who has played with countless local musicians, sits on various charity boards, and acted as secretary for the Glenn Gould Foundation for years, moves effortlessly between musical genres, projects and influences. Drawn to diversity, he is to the Toronto music scene as the CN Tower, Kensington Market and Caribana are to the Toronto cultural landscape. He fits the city like a glove and has established himself as “one of the great minds in jazz” today according to Toronto’s premier jazz radio station JAZZ FM.

The Lula Lounge residency began on the heels of the album release of the jazz-symphony fusion Symphronica, which was made and performed with famed conductor John Morris Russell. Along with Davis’ jazz quartet, plus a high-flying string ensemble, the grouping is highly unique in its ability to play both “straight” and improvised material. Symphronica brings fresh, accessible music and an unconventional blend of genres to unsuspecting audiences. It’s original music on a delightful collision course that reaches all music-lovers.

About The Lombard Twins:

The May 31st concert will be a featured event at Lulaworld, with guests Argentine-born MARTIN & FACUNDO LOMBARD. The dancers are spectacular artists and performers revered the world over. From their beginnings in dance at the age of seven, and inspired by Michael Jackson, they went on to create a style of their own – an emotional and expressive blend of hip-hop, tap, jazz, ballet, tango and other modes. Their art transcends traditions and limitations of many established techniques and trends. Now based in the U.S., THE LOMBARD TWINS have brought their sensational work to major venues worldwide, including stints for TV, film (the hit “Step Up 3D” and “Step Up All In” movies) and, in a fitting connection to their first influence, the tribute to Michael Jackson after his tragic death
