(Toronto – June 25, 2015) Garlic lovers, farmers, chefs, craft brewers, artisans and scientists gather to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the Toronto Garlic Festival at a new location, Artscape Wychwood Barns, on Sunday September 20. And with it comes a new sponsor – Organics Live joins the festival as Presenting Sponsor.

“We are thrilled to have Organics Live join us this year, and become the Presenting Sponsor of the Toronto Garlic Festival,” says Festival Director Peter McClusky. “This is a truly synergistic partnership.”

Melissa Fenwick, Manager, Marketing and Community Engagement at Organics Live, said her team shares the same values as the festival. “In terms of promoting local agriculture and healthy food, we’re very much on the same philosophic page as the Toronto Garlic Festival.”

Organics Live delivers certified organic, locally sourced and sustainably produced fruits and veggies for less than the cost of shopping retail.

Slow Cooked Ribs in Black Garlic Beer Sauce, Roasted Ontario Corn with Garlic and Basil Butter, and Homemade Roast Garlic Marshmallows, toasted on-the-spot, are just some of the many garlic-inspired dishes that will be prepared by local chefs for this upcoming Festival.

Visitors will be able to once again stock up on their winter’s supply of fresh garlic, and can watch cooking demos, presentations, and live music, which will run all day.

This year’s festival film screening will be, Food Fighters, a feature documentary produced and directed by Paula Kaston, that shows how communities are coming together with urban agriculture initiatives and local food businesses to create food security.

Among the 60 vendors set to take part, visitors will find a myriad of local garlic specimens – including rare and heirloom varieties – garlic jellies and jams, relish and dips, fresh herbs and specialty items, and garlic paraphernalia.

The Toronto Garlic Festival is at a new location: Artscape Wychwood Barns, located at 601 Christie St., just south of St Clair Ave., less than 10-minute walk west from the St. Clair West subway station.

Sunday, September 20, 2015 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Less than 10-minutes from St Clair West subway.

Street and metered parking nearby. Wheelchair accessible.
