Massey Hall presents
Old Man Luedecke
at the Harbourfront Centre Theatre
Old Man Luedecke makes a centuries old musical tradition completely relevant for a modern audience. He does this with a level of skill that has won him two JUNO Awards and stage space with artists like Feist, Tim O’Brien, Buck 65, and The Be Good Tanyas. Toronto born, but East Coast bred for most of his musical life, Luedecke is unaffected and engaging. His performances are rich but uncomplicated, known for their easy warmth and sincerity and the sparkle of his banjo and guitar work. His poetically crafted lyrics and catchy melodies deal with timeless emotion and explore the poignant intersections between hope and frustration, inspiration and disappointment, between what we might obtain and what we might lose.
His latest album Domestic Eccentric is to be released in the summer of 2015. It was recorded in a cabin he built by hand in the snowy woods around Chester, Nova Scotia and produced by Grammy award winner Tim OBrien.
