Inspired by tales of these latter-day mammoth hunters, Buran Theatre brings Mammoth to the stage. Working in canyons of glacial silence, two tusk hunters navigate a modern romance in a landscape irrevocably altered by their presence. Re-cast and re-made with Los Angeles performers and artists, this poetic and comedic “paleo-fable” meditates upon why we destroy what we love and, once vanished, what compels us to revive what we’ve lost. After a critically acclaimed run at The Brick in Brooklyn, this evocative and surreal meditation on love and destruction comes to Highways Performance Space and Gallery for two nights only.
