Barbara Fischer is the guest curator of Mark Lewis: Invention, currently on exhibit at The Power Plant. Canadian-born and UK-based artist Mark Lewis has made films in cities all over the world. Fischer’s lecture will focus on the film works by Lewis that are set in Toronto, examined in the context of his interests in the intermixing of cinematic tropes, architecture, urban settings, time, and duration.
Barbara Fischer is the Executive Director/Chief Curator of the Justina M. Barnicke Gallery and the University of Toronto Art Centre, as well as Director of the Master of Visual Studies Curatorial Studies in the John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape and Design at the University of Toronto.
