In 2014, Ayod County was deserted due to the political crisis which resulted to massive displacement of the civil population in the defunct Jonglei State.
Fangak State Minister of Information, James Lony Kang, says majority of the people are returning from rebel controlled areas for resettlement.
He says that World Food Program has already sent more than 20 trucks loaded with food items.
“We have requested the international organisations to come to our State and indeed in the response to this (the request), one of the organisations, the WFP has responded to us positively and right now as we speak about 21 trucks have already reached Ayod capital of Fangak State,” said James Lony.
Lony said some organisations have gone to other areas including Wau, Mogok and Pagil to deliver aid assistance to the most affected communities.
He said that the State government has an initiative to sensitize the local communities and Ayod residents who are scattered due to the current political crisis to come back home for resettlement.
