On Saturday, June 25, 2016 you can discover the taste of one of the Caribbean’s most exciting cuisines by taking my cooking workshop at Hendrix hosted by Now You're Cooking!
Jamaican cuisine is influenced by an eclectic mix of African, Indian, Spanish, British, Chinese and Indigenous cultures. Feel like you’re in the tropics during this two-hour class filled with aromatic spices and a melting-pot of flavour. This hands-on class with help you get ready for a hot summer with a menu that includes:
– Jerk Chicken Kabobs
– Pineapple-Mango Salsa
– Jamaican Beef Patties
– Carrot Juice
We will be making everything from scratch and there will be time at the end of class to enjoy the meal everyone helps create. You’ll even be able to take home a small jar of your own fresh, jerk marinade! Monique will also provide recipe sheets so that you can practice re-creating the delicious meal at home.
