Windows 30

By Stephen Pate – Windows 3.0 shipped on May 25, 1990 with three major apps – Notepad, File Manager and Paintbrush. The best app for newbies was the Solitaire game which got people used to the mouse and navigation.

That was it. We got it. We installed it and then tried out the three apps. There was not much more you could do.

We had to wait until Windows 3.1 for an operating system that could be used for work.
