Acharya Sri Khadi MadamaEpisode – 13

Gracie rubbed her eyes. She rubbed them again and again, but the vision of the huge, plump pink fish, seated on a watery cushion that somehow didn’t seem to make anything wet even though it splashed everywhere, just didn’t rub away. He was real. As real as he appeared, anyway, in the new Pink life Gracie was having. “Good morning, your Highness”, Gracie replied. The fish was wearing a gold crown with pink jewels. Naturally, Gracie assumed he was king! “Get out your yoga mat, my dear, and let’s see if you remember your first lesson before I teach you my special pose”. Gracie took out the X-17 Deluxe Yoga Mat. She had folded it up and placed it inside the pocket of her knapsack the night before so she wouldn’t forget it. Pouf! It opened as quickly as a Jack in the Box pops out and it was only a moment before Gracie stood before it, ready to compose herself as she was instructed. She placed both of her hands together, palms pressed together in the “Namaskar” position; she took a deep breath, but just as she was about to place one foot onto it, Matsyasa blurted out, “Wait! There is something that you should know before you step onto the mat, and that is exactly where to step onto it. You see, Gracie, most people don’t know that it does make a difference and depending on where you step onto your mat, you will access a particular kind of energy, so it is very important for you to understand how to do this. In ancient India there is a science known as Vastu, which assigns certain energies to archetectural spaces. However, these energies are also existing on one’s Yoga mat, the X-17 Deluxe and any other Yoga mat, even if it is not from YogaLand. This knowledge is almost altogether lost, but because I am a great King of a Fish, I still possess this knowledge and I will teach it to you today. First, we will have to discover the direction of North East, which means you will have to use one of the functions of your mobile phone.”

Gracie immediately scrambled around her room to find the pink glitter pouch, making sure that she did not step on the X-17. She held out her left hand and sprinkled some pink glitter from the pouch into empty space. Suddenly the holographic pink mobile phone appeared. Matsyasa told her to locate the compass icon and to press on it. Sure enough, the compass appeared. She located North East easily, having gone camping with her mother and father in the years before her father had sadly gone off to war. “Good”, said Matsyasa, gleefully clapping his fish-like hands. “Turn the X-17 so that the top of it is facing North East. This is the direction that holds the energies for the greatest knowledge and spiritual growth. It is also the portal for the good vibrational qualities of wind and water and it is where the head of Lord Vishnu lay sleeping. Now you see why you would not want to step on the mat from the North East side, he would not like to have his head stepped on. One more thing you should know, Gracie, he further explained, is that once you have aligned your Yoga mat to North East, it will always be perfectly aligned. You can access the mat by stepping on from the South East side, which is located on the right side of your mat just above the bottom right hand corner. In this location you will be able to increase your happiness because you will be entering on the Right side of Vishnu, and to be on the Right side of Vishnu is, well, right! Plus, it’s VERY pink!” explained Matsyasa.
