Bharatiya Janata Party’s prime ministerial candidate, Narendra Modi, brought up the issue of Nido Taniam’s death while addressing a rally in Arunchal Pradesh’s Pasighat. Modi said that he came to this state with a heavy heart as a boy brought up in this land was killed in the nation’s capital of Delhi last month..

The Chief Minister of Gujarat said that he prays to his god to bless Nido’s family and give them the courage to face this loss. In a very apparent attempt to attract his northeastern voters, the BJP leader expressed that the blood of the people of this region and his blood is the same. Bringing up the 1962 war, Modi exclaimed that it was the people of Arunachal who didn’t come under the pressure of China, and the words ‘Jai Hind’ still echo in this land. ‘No power in this world can snatch away our territory,’ Modi expressed, ‘China should shed its expansionist policy and forge bilateral ties with India for peace, progress and prosperity of both the nations, I swear in the name of this soil that I will never allow the state to disappear…Breakdown and to bow down,’ Modi said to the crowd applauding him near the Siang River.

In an attempt to attract the young voters, Modi questioned why the Generation X has to leave their homeland and go out to study or in search of employment. The BJP leader said he will emphasize greatly on development and that he was in Arunachal with the same message. He asked the people gathered that ‘Can we trust the Government in Delhi?’ He emphasized that a government which that is sensitive to every part of the country and listens to problems all across India should have the right to power.
