Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has officially launched his Facebook page for his supporters on Friday.
His page gives a comprehensive background of his career as well as personal life. He launched his Facebook page with a welcome address for everyone which said, “Hello Everybody, Welcome to my Facebook page! :-))â€. His introductory note was quite long and expressed a lot of concerns. He also explained that he has joined the social networking site as many of his colleagues were on this site and were communicating effectively on this forum with the people and urged him to do the same. Therefore, after much thought he officially launched his page.
He also mentioned the importance and popularity social media has gained within a short time and said that it was important to be socially connected in order to get things done. Also adding an element of fun, he said that his intention behind joining Facebook was also to have some fun and share his comments, thoughts, and opinion about his future plans. Encouraging others to take positive benefit out of the social media, he proposed to use this platform to brainstorm and come up with ideas to make Singapore a better place to live.
In the concluding remarks, he said that he will post comments on his page himself as frequently as he can but his team will also assist him manage the page.
