Electric Dusk Drive-In (Los Angeles, CA)

One of the great perks about living in L.A. is that you can head out for a drive-in movie in the middle of winter. Midwesterners and those on the East Coast just don’t get to have that experience — and on top of a parking garage in the middle of downtown, no less. This January, check out Terry Gilliam’s 1985 British science fiction fantasy film Brazil. Starring Jonathan Pryce and featuring Robert De Niro, Kim Greist, Michael Palin, Katherine Helmond, Bob Hoskins and Ian Holm, this dystopian satire depicts a man’s search for the beautiful woman he dreams of while working a mind-numbing job, living in a dystopian world ruled by a totalitarian government and quirky machines. If you like to munch while enjoying your film fare, there’s a full snack bar featuring BBQ, candy, popcorn and a large selection of beverages. Your ticket through Goldstar gets you up-front astroturf seating. You bring a blanket and/or a low-back chair; they provide the entertainment.
