Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Kenny Loggins goes “Footloose,” writing another chapter in his storied career by teaming with Nashville’s Gary Burr and Georgia Middleman to form the harmonizing country trio Blue Sky Riders. They released their debut album Finally Home just this January, and have already appeared as a musical guest on The Tonight Show. Now they’ll take the stage live with opening sets by Michael Martinez and Susan Sheller. Kenny Loggins first found fame in the ’70s as half of the folk-rock duo Loggins and Messina (“Danny’s Song, Your Mama Don’t Dance”), and followed that up with a successful solo career (“Whenever I Call You Friend,” “This Is It”). Since then, he’s become the King of Movie Soundtracks, with massive hit songs like “Danger Zone” from Top Gun and “I’m Alright” from Caddyshack, launched a run as a successful children’s music artist, and he’s reunited with Messina for a tour. This new group comes to The Canyon hot off appearances at SXSW in Austin and the Sundance Festival.
