Archway Theatre (Los Angeles, CA)
The Scrubs or Children’s Hospital of its day, Imaginary Invalid was written by Molière and adapted by Mike Funt. Imaginary Invalid takes aim at both sides of the medical profession — the caretakers and their patients. The comedy is centered on Argan, a severe hypochondriac, and set in the world of modern medicine that has a pill for everything except the trials of love. It’s a fast-paced, farcical look at HMOs, PPOs, quacky doctors and naughty nurses. Originally written to amuse King Louis XIV, Imaginary Invalid remains a hilarious, safe and effective cure for any modern day comedy deficiency.
