Royce Hall at UCLA (Los Angeles, CA)

Goran Bregovic Wedding and Funeral Band return to Royce Hall with their unique brand of eclectic, up-tempo Balkan Brass. One of Eastern Europe’s most popular musicians, Bregovic is known for his live shows, which are irresistibly raucous but contain moments of serene beauty. He blends classical and rock influences with the traditional sounds of the Balkans, including a tuxedo-clad male choir and a Serbian gypsy brass band. Bregovic is also known for his work with director Emir Kusturica. He wrote music for the scores of such Kusturica films as Time of the Gypsies (1988) and the Cannes Film Festival Palme d’Or winner Underground (1995). He also wrote and recorded music for the hit comedy Borat.
