100 Years of Norman Lloyd: "Saboteur" & "A Walk in the Sun"

After celebrating his 100th birthday just a handful of days ago, accomplished actor-producer-director Norman Lloyd now rings in his centennial by introducing — live and in person — a double feature of classic films at the Aero Theatre. Once a member of Orson Welles and John Houseman’s legendary Mercury Theater company, the lure of Hollywood beckoned a young Lloyd to journey west, and it was as a villain in Alfred Hitchcock’s Saboteur that he first got his start on the silver screen in 1942. This thrilling classic — filled with false accusations, paranoia and an unforgettable climax atop the Statue of Liberty — starts off the double-bill for this evening, followed by a newly restored print of A Walk in the Sun. Directed by Lewis Milestone, this acclaimed 1945 war drama follows a platoon of WWII soldiers sent on a tense mission to blow up an Italian bridge. Don’t miss your chance to see these fantastic films in the beautiful confines of the Aero Theatre and celebrate a remarkable life and career that has found Lloyd — who continues to act at the age of 100 — working with everyone from Charlie Chaplin to Martin Scorsese.
