The wild excitement of the space race joins hands with the counterculture’s free love movement in this play about moral ambiguity and marital hilarity. Set in a notorious Topanga Canyon clothing-optional commune, aerospace visionary John Williamson and hundreds of free-swinging brainiacs prepare for the first off-planet space colony. Against the backdrop of otherworldly living at Habitat Eutopia, Williamson and his partner Barbara intervene in a couple’s troubled marriage, simultaneously encouraging their love and sense of adventure. Partly based on the true story of the Sandstone Retreat, Love the Ones You’re With runs at the Whitefire Theatre in Sherman Oaks.
