Egyptian Theatre (Hollywood, CA)
Comic genius Jacques Tati was a master at focusing on the bourgeoisie with a lens both critical and amused. Now, get a double dose of films from the Frenchman named one of the “50 Greatest Directors” by Entertainment Weekly during this evening at American Cinematheque’s historic Egyptian Theatre, a Hollywood movie palace dating back to 1922. In Tati’s English-language version of Mon Oncle, bumbling Monsieur Hulot, discombobulated by adult company, finds more affable companionship in his young nephew.
