The government of Lakes State has confirmed full redeployment of security agencies across the state ahead of South Sudan fourth Independence Anniversary celebrations in Lakes State.

LAKES STATE, 08 July 2015, [Gurtong] – Jok Ayom, Minister of local government and Law Enforcement Agency and also Acting Minister of Information in Lake State said the security situation outside the town and within the Counties is normal.

“Yes the security is fine and everyone is happy to enjoy the 9th July independence celebrations” Ayom said.

Ayom noted that “we have SPLA forces from the operation units that were brought from Juba last year which were all redeployed around and within the borders of the Counties with organized forces to tackle security.”

The Minister said the forces were redeployed between Cueibet and Rumbek Center to Rumbek North and the whole of Greater Yirol Counties.

On Monday, Minister Jok said the State has received 200 thousand South Sudanese pounds from the National government allocated for the independence celebration in Lakes State.

“We received two hundred thousand Pounds and the State will add a small budget on it to celebrate the fourth anniversary. He said.
